Lanre Okusanya, PharmD (CP)

Dr. Okusanya is a Clinical Pharmacology Team Leader for the Division of Cancer Pharmacology 1 in the Office of Clinical Pharmacology, at the U.S Food and Drug Administration. He received his Pharm.D. from Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Houston, TX in 2002, and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Following a Master’s degree in Pharmacometrics and the completion of a Pfizer/University of Buffalo Drug Development Fellowship in 2006, Dr. Okusanya worked for the Institute for Clinical Pharmacodynamics in Albany, NY, leveraging pre-clinical and Phase 1 data for dose selection and optimizing dosing regimens for patients, as well as, providing translational and investigational PKPD guidance for the development of novel therapeutics with an emphasis on anti-infectives. Upon joining the FDA in 2014, Dr. Okusanya has worked extensively with hematology products including biosimilars, dealing with regulatory issues that arise with small molecules, and biologics from a clinical pharmacology perspective.
