Joseph Gootenberg, M.D.

Dr. Gootenberg has served as director of pediatric hematology/oncology at the Vincent T. Lombardi Cancer Center and Department of Pediatrics, Georgetown University School of Medicine. He graduated from Harvard College and received his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He served his pediatric residency at Boston Children’s Hospital, and completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the National Cancer Institute where he pursued postdoctoral training in cellular immunology and cytokines in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Gallo.
