Karthick Vishwanathan, PhD is currently Group Director in the Clinical Pharmacology and Quantitative Pharmacology group at AstraZeneca in Waltham, MA, USA leading a group of scientists in the oncology therapy area to advance model based approaches from candidate selection to life cycle management.
Dr. Vishwanathan has over 20 years of industry experience having worked previously at Merck and Wyeth before joining AstraZeneca. Karthick has worked on several early and late stage oncology programs as the clinical pharmacology lead to optimize and deliver several medicines to patients which includes Tagrisso (for the treatment of EGFRm NSCLC), Calquence (for MCL) and Koselugo (for NF-1). Karthick has previously worked in neuroscience and infection therapy areas as DMPK project leader. Dr. Vishwanathan has published more than 40 peer reviewed articles and has had numerous presentations at scientific conferences. Dr. Vishwanathan received his B.Pharm. from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences in India in 1996 and his PhD in Pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Georgia (Athens, Georgia), USA in 2001.
