Peg Ford, Co-Founder and Emeritus President, Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego is a 13 year ovarian cancer and melanoma survivor. She serves as Patient Advocate on ASCO Research Community Forum Steering Group, NCI’s Ovarian Cancer Taskforce and is a member of the FDA’s Patient Representative Program as well as a Consumer Reviewer for The British Medical Journal (The BMJ). She has served on Steering Committees for Guidelines International Network/North American (GIN/NA) and Evidence-Based Research Network (EBRNetwork).
She is ardently committed to her vision of patient advocates as the bridge between the patient community and the scientific/medical world, working hand-in-hand to impact changes to better serve both communities. She serves as a committee, advisory, editorial and peer review member on numerous panels and meetings to address all medical issues affecting evidence-based research on local, state, national and international levels.
She received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for educating and providing support to the medical community by Congresswoman Susan A. Davis; FDA Commissioner’s Special Recognition Award as a member of the 2014 Patient Representative Workshop Team; Certificate of Appreciation from Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) in recognition of tireless dedication to and advocacy on behalf of the ovarian cancer community; and, is proud to have received the award as Soroptimist International of Coronado’s 2016 Legend!
