S. Eswara Reddy, Ph.D.
Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, India
Dr. Reddy is the Drugs Controller General of India and works for the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). He received his master’s degree in pharmacy from the College of Pharmaceuticals Sciences, Manipal and his Ph.D from J.N.T.U, Hyderabad. He has vast experience in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and in drug regulations.
At CDSCO, Dr. Reddy has been the head of various internal divisions including medical devices, biologics, new drugs, import and registration. He has participated in many national and international seminars, workshops and meetings on various areas of drug regulations and undergone training from USFDA, KFDA, PMDA and WHO, Geneva. He was awarded the “Best Drugs Inspector award” in 2005 and “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. He has also published articles in various journals. Recently, he received the “Best Drugs Control Officer” award in 2016 during the 66th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress in Hyderabad.
