Dr. Schiller, along with Dr. Douglas Lowy, spearheaded the early phases of research and development of the HPV preventative vaccines, which later evolved into the widely recognized Cervarix and Gardasil vaccines. Their present research delves into the fundamental processes of the papillomavirus life cycle, advancements in HPV vaccines, and exploring the potential of HPV capsid-driven vaccines for other infectious diseases and cancers. Additionally, their laboratory is working on cancer treatments leveraging the unique affinity of HPV capsids to cancer cells.
