Mahesh Parmar
Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology and Director of MRC Clinical Trials Unit at University College London and the Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology at University College London
Max Parmar is a teacher and head of two groups at University College London that specialize in medical research and experiments. He also helped run an organisation that increased the amount of patients joining cancer studies in England. He has published over 400 articles in respected journals, and many of them helped change how we work in health care. The MRC Clinical Trials Unit, which he manages, works on finding answers for urgent problems related to illnesses and strives to move the solutions quickly to patients. They do this by performing difficult and creative tasks and by advancing the way we design, conduct, and analyse studies. In 2019, Max Parmar received a special award called the “Officer of the Order of the British Empire” for his work.
