Sumimasa Nagai

Dr. Nagai is deputy director of the Translational Research Center at the University of Tokyo Hospital, and clinical expert advisor at Companion Diagnostics Working Group and the Office of New Drugs V (Oncology) at the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), Japan. At PMDA, he has been involved in regulating oncologic drugs and companion diagnostics. He also has worked at the University of Tokyo Hospital since 2017.
Before joining PMDA as a clinical reviewer in 2011, he spent most of his career as a physician in the Department of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Tokyo Hospital.
He received his M.D. and his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo.
